Working in Communities – Organisation, Development and Engagement (C-ODE)

We are running a new training course ‘Working in C-ODE’ for anyone working in communities and wanting a level 2 or 3 qualification in Community Development.

It is for anyone

* in paid work or volunteering

* who is actively involved in community development,

* in voluntary and community organisations, statutory bodies or businesses.

Learners have described our similar WICO course as being a ‘a life-changing factor’ and ‘without doubt a stepping stone into employment’.

‘Working in C-ODE’ will support you to develop practical and analytical skills to work with a range of communities. You will gain an understanding of community development values and purpose, work with community groups and the diversity of communities as well as skills in community development practice – inclusive group work, assessing community needs and reflective practice.

If you are interested please let us know by emailing info@trustdevcom.org.uk or calling 01273 262220

The course is delivered and sponsored by TDC with support from the University of Brighton and bursaries are available.

Working With Communities

Over the past six years we have developed a very successful community engagement training course, delivered by in-house trainers and external consultants.  The course is relevant to voluntary and statutory sector organisation’s as well as local community groups and it encourages effective community engagement, experiential learning and improved understanding of cross-sector working and partnerships. We have worked with Brighton & Hove City Council to deliver community engagement courses over the last few years. We have also run a youth engagement training course at Sussex Central YMCA.
This course is particularly focussed on the role of teams, leaders and trustees when working with communities.

For more general information on the course please see our Working with Communities flyer or call 01273 262220 or email info@trustdevcom.org.uk for the latest course dates.

To book a place, email learning@brighton-hove.gov.uk.

All courses are at Brighton Town Hall, Bartholomew Square, BN1 1JA and are delivered in partnership between TDC and Brighton & Hove City Council.
