Who are we?

TDC (Trust for Developing Communities) is a community development charity (registered number 1106623) working in Brighton & Hove and beyond.

What information do we collect about you?

TDC collects information about you when we first speak to you, when someone refers you to us, and during our work with you. This includes:

  • Personal details about you, for example your age, your health, and ways to contact you;
  • Details about the support you need or areas you are interested in getting help with
  • Information about anyone else supporting you.

We also collect information when you voluntarily complete surveys or give us feedback on our services.

Why do we collect this information and how will we use it?

TDC takes your privacy seriously.  We collect information about you so we can support you. Recording this information means we can work to deliver a service which best meets your needs.  We will only use your personal information to provide services or information to you. 

For some of our projects which we deliver in partnership with other organisations, we have a shared case management system.  This enables us to work together to provide an effective service across Brighton and Hove.

We share relevant information about you with other services and projects within TDC.

We also use your information to create anonymised data for general reporting and statistical purposes.

We will ask for your consent to store your personal information (securely, under data protection legislation) and you may give this consent verbally or in writing. You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time. You can ask us to delete your personal information at any time.

When and why would we ever share this information with others?

We would only share information with other agencies when we think you or others aren’t safe or where the law requires.

Can you see the information we hold about you?

Yes, you can ask to see the personal information that TDC holds about you, and can choose to receive that personal information in paper or electronic form. You have the right to ask us to correct any inaccuracies in the personal information that we hold about you.
