Every year TDC supports community organisations to give out small pots of Public Health funding known as the Healthy Neighbourhood Fund.
This funding is a great way for people to develop health and wellbeing related community activities, projects and groups which meet any of the following health priorities:
- Healthy Eating
- Active Living
- Mental Health and Wellbeing
- Ageing Well
- Maintaining health on a low income
- Raising awareness about key health messages (e.g. on smoking, alcohol or sexual health)
TDC administers the Healthy Neighbourhood Fund in the following areas:
Tarner area, Albion Hill, Carlton Hill, Edward Street, Phoenix Estate, Pankhurst area, Craven Vale Estate, Hollingdean, Moulsecoomb & Bevendean, Saunders Park and Bates Estate.
In 2019, small grants of up to £500 are available (depending on the area) and most are currently open to applications from small community groups. The first deadline for this year is Friday 13th September (specific details to follow when available).
