Student volunteer placements with BAME communities

BME wellbeing fair | Community Development Brighton TDC
Some of our student volunteers at the TDC 2019 BME wellbeing fair.

The Trust for Developing Communities are delighted to be partnering with our local universities to offer students the opportunity to volunteer on projects that will enable BAME communities to take ownership of their health, and to improve their wellbeing.

There are two projects you can volunteer at:

Tarner Multicultural Group – Wellbeing and Community Roots – Mental Health.

We are looking for students with knowledge and experience (personal, voluntary or paid) of BAME communities, particularly on challenges and opportunities they face when it comes to improving their health and wellbeing.

Since you will be supporting BAME communities, we are looking for (but not essential) student volunteers whom speak English and another language such as Arabic, Bengali, Hindi, Urdu, Cantonese, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Romanian and Turkish etc…

Click here and here to read blog posts by other students whom volunteered on similar BAME projects at the Trust for Developing Communities.

If you have any questions, or would like to talk through the BAME Projects’ volunteer opportunity, email [email protected] to arrange a telephone chat.

Application deadline: 9am, Monday 21st October 2019
