Kalishia joined the Trust in June 2009 with experience of involvement in Youth/Community Work since she was a teenager. Some of that experience was being a Young Advisor for Brighton & Hove’s Youth Pilot project and also being part of a traineeship programme working for Brighton & Hove City Council as a Community Engagement Officer. Whilst doing this traineeship programme Kalishia successfully achieved a Level 3 Diploma on the accredited OCN Working in Community Organisations (WICO) course. After studying on the WICO course it gave Kalishia the confidence to go on to study a higher education diploma at City College in Politics, Policy Making and Globalisation and then on to do a degree in Politics and International Development Studies at the University of Sussex. Kalishia is the Community Development Worker for the Coldean and Hollingbury areas. Kalishia works for 28 hours per week and shares the time between the neighbourhoods. In Coldean Kalishia is based at New Larchwood in the café office and in Hollingbury she is based in various venues across the neighbourhood. Please contact Kalishia to check her availability. Kalishia's office is always open to have a chat about a concern, ideas about what you would like to see in your local neighbourhood, new activities or for some advice, please feel free to drop in, send an email or contact Kalishia by telephone or on her mobile phone.
