TDC Trustee Robert Awarded MBE

We would like to congratulate one of our trustees, Robert Brown, who was awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours list. Robert was described as an "unsung hero" for his voluntary work in Bevendean. His work, of course, has never been unrecognised by us, and as for 'unsung', well we might have requested that he didn't sing at the staff and trustees Christmas party, but that's as far as it goes!
Robert was recognised for his "services to the community of Bevendean". He responded to the press by saying, typically, that he was "gob-smacked" and has since requested to the Palace that his ceremony take place in Bevendean rather than in London, so that the community can take part in the event - as it is an award to recognise all of the communities efforts - not just his own.
Well done Robert!
