On 3rd April 2012 at Steve Andrews' (Community Participation Worker at New Larchwood) encouragement members of the Black History Group visited the Coldean Art Group.

The purpose of the event was to record older people's thoughts on changing approaches to language regarding race and culture in their lifetimes.

The group were never knowlingly shy or without an opinion of come kind; the chat flowed freely once the painting got underway, so plenty of material was laid down for a future broadcast on BBC Radio Sussex.  They proved to be very enlightened, one having once been married to a Ghanaian.
