How can community development respond to child poverty issues?

The Trust for Developing Communities, the Hangleton and Knoll Project and Serendipity are community development organisations, delivering work at neighbourhood level in Brighton and Hove. A report has been created in partnership by the three organisations in response to the Brighton and Hove Child Poverty Needs Assessment 2010-2011 (Draft V. 2.0.), which has been put together by Brighton and Hove City Council.

The areas are: Bates Estate, Coombe Road, Eastern Road, Lewes Road, London Road, Saunders Park Estate, St James's Street and Tarner.

TDC Trustee Robert Awarded MBE

Robert Brown MBE

We would like to congratulate one of our trustees, Robert Brown, who was awarded an MBE in the New Years Honours list. Robert was described as an "unsung hero" for his voluntary work in Bevendean. His work, of course, has never been unrecognised by us, and as for 'unsung', well we might have requested that he didn't sing at the staff and trustees Christmas party, but that's as far as it goes!
