- Mapping what goes on in Peacehaven: meeting local community groups and service providers to map out existing activities and services
- Initiating coffee mornings to meet new residents and find out their interests
- Organising speakers to provide information about different outreach services for older people (for example, the library service, falls prevention)
The Trust for Developing Communities works at Downlands Court, an extra care scheme for older people. Downlands Court opened in September 2009. The scheme is at the forefront of new solutions to providing facilities for older people in local communities and linking and integrating those facilities within the local neighbourhood. Submitted by tdc on 31 July, 2009 - 10:46. Portslade, Peacehaven, Hollingbury, New Larchwood, ColdeanJoanna joined the Trust for Developing Communities as a Projects Manager in July 2009. She has a background in participatory community development, working with development projects over the last 15 years. She has managed participatory research projects and research teams, carried out evaluations and coordinated work with partner organisations, mainly in Asia and Africa.

PeacehavenSue joined the Trust in August 2006, having previously worked as a Community Development Worker in East Brighton, firstly in Moulsecoomb and then in Whitehawk (2002 - 2006). She successfully achieved a Level 3 Diploma on the accredited OCN Working in Community Organisations (WICO) course in 2002. In July 2009, Sue was appointed as Community Participation Worker for Downlands Court, Peacehaven.
